and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.

The moment we get into Christ by receiving Jesus as Savior and Lord, we receive a brand-new nature and identity. The Scripture now tells us to “put on” this new self, and the way we do this is by allowing God’s Word and the Holy Spirit in us to transform our thinking. Realize today that your behavior does not determine your identity, but that your identity, sooner or later, will determine your behavior.
