For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him.
Philippians 2:13 (NLT)
God is working in us, transforming us from the inside out. As we put our faith in Jesus, the Holy Spirit goes to work on the inside of us, producing in us the desire and the ability to live right. When we believe that Jesus has already made us righteous, the Holy Spirit will enable us to live and act in ways that correspond to what we believe.
But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:
1 Corinthians 1:30 (KJV)
Jesus has become our wisdom, our righteousness, our sanctification, and our redemption. And so let us remember to not look to ourselves, but to Him. Being in Christ means that He has become our sufficiency unto whatever need may arise. As we meditate daily on this truth, accepting it in our hearts by faith, we will see the fruits of it showing up in our lives.
I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit; for without me ye can do nothing.
John 15:5 (KJV)
Strength and power comes from our personal relationship with Jesus. Walking with Him and being in fellowship with Him through the Holy Spirit gives us might and ability beyond what we could accomplish on our own. The more connected we are to the vine, the more fruit will we bear.
Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit.
1 John 4:13 (KJV)
God has joined us to Himself through His Spirit that dwells on the inside of every Believer. Now the Holy Spirit in us will teach us and guide us through the Word of God. He will make the truths of the Word real to our hearts and enable us to walk more fully in who God has called us to be.
In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
Proverbs 3:6 (KJV)
When we make it our practice to keep our attention and focus on God through His Word, we will find ourselves being more receptive to the guidance and direction of the Holy Spirit. When we acknowledge God in all things, He will direct our paths into the good He has already prepared for us.
The instructions of the Lord are perfect, reviving the soul. The decrees of the Lord are trustworthy, making wise the simple.
Psalms 19:7 (NLT)
When we put our trust in God’s Word and in the leading and the guidance of the Holy Spirit, we will find peace overtaking our soul and wisdom filling our heart. Committing to lives lived according to God’s way will always reveal His instructions to be perfect and His Word evermore trustworthy.
