It is God that girdeth me with strength, and maketh my way perfect.
Psalm 18:32 (KJV)
God supplies us with strength and He leads us into His will for our lives as we trust Him and depend upon Him in all things. We limit God by trying to do things according to our own ways; yet when we trust in His leading and the guidance of the Holy Spirit, He will make our way perfect.
But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
John 14:26 (KJV)
One of the functions of the Holy Spirit is to bring the things of Jesus to our remembrance. We can be in the midst of turmoil or some kind of unexpected challenge, and the Holy Spirit will be there to gently draw our attention back to the truths of the Word of God. He will remind us of what is true about us in Christ and the victory that has already been won.
But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:
1 Corinthians 1:30 (KJV)
Jesus has become our wisdom, our righteousness, our sanctification, and our redemption. And so let us remember to not look to ourselves, but to Jesus. Being in Christ means that He has become our sufficiency unto whatever need may arise. As we meditate daily on this truth, accepting it in our hearts by faith, we will see the fruits of it showing up in our lives.
What? know yet not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own. For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.
1 Corinthians 6:19-20 (KJV)
When we gave our lives to Jesus, His Holy Spirit took up residence within us. This means God’s presence and power now dwell in us. And so let us live every day knowing that we belong to the Lord, that we have been bought with a price, thereby opening ourselves to the life of victory and purpose God has called us to live.
