By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
Romans 5:2 (KJV)
Grace is the revelation that God has made available anything we will ever need through the finished works of Jesus. Faith is how we access what grace has provided. And so let us embrace by faith that the solution to every challenge has already been provided. When we believe this and live out from it, we will see the evidence of it manifest in our life.
And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them. And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one’s bands were loosed.
Acts 16:25-26 (KJV)
The way we respond to a situation will often determine what the outcome will be. Paul and Silas, when locked up in prison, responded by praising God. As a result a miracle took place which enabled them to escape. When we praise God in the midst of the storm, we make ourselves available to seeing His supernatural power at work in our lives!
Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy;
Psalm 107:2 (KJV)
As the redeemed of the Lord we are to say with boldness that we have been set free from any and all forms of bondage. When we confess our redemption and the finished works of Christ, we are releasing our faith to lay hold of the victory that has already been made available.
[He has also appropriated and acknowledged us as His by] putting His seal upon us and giving us His [Holy] Spirit in our hearts as the security deposit and guarantee [of the fulfillment of His promise].
2 Corinthians 1:22 (AMP)
The Holy Spirit is God’s security deposit! This means it is actually the Holy Spirit’s job to guarantee that God’s purposes for our lives will come to pass. And so what is required of us is that we learn to live lives of complete dependence on Him where we no longer rely on our own efforts and performance, but we trust the unfailing working of the Spirit of grace in us.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
John 3:16 (KJV)
At the heart of Christmas lies this truth that God has already given us the greatest gift we could ever receive in bringing forth His Son into the world. By simply placing our faith in Jesus, we are delivered from everything that leads to destruction, and we receive the free gift of everlasting life. This life that Jesus came to give includes wholeness, peace, joy, soundness, safety, and every need met in spirit, soul and body.
The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).
John 10:10 (AMP)
Jesus has come to give us the more abundant life. This is life to the full, till it overflows. It is God’s will for us to see an overflow of His goodness and glory in the various areas of our life. The key to breakthrough is to not let circumstances move us off track, but to keep our attention and our focus on Jesus. We will surely see His promises come to pass in our lives.
