God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.

1 Corinthians 1:9 (NKJV)

In this new covenant everything always begins with what has already been finished. In other words, rather than looking to what we can do, we look to what Jesus has already done. Notice that this puts the emphasis on God rather than ourselves. God is the one who is faithful, and He has called us to walk in an intimate relationship with His Son Jesus. Our fellowship with Jesus enables Him to work in us by means of His Holy Spirit, producing in us change, transformation, and breakthrough we could have never accomplished on our own.
