For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him.

In the old covenant God was separated from His people because of sin. In this new covenant God is no longer separate and apart from the believer as a result of the finished works of Jesus. Those who are in Christ have been joined unto Him by means of His Holy Spirit who indwells us; and, as a result, it is God who is now working on the inside of us, molding us and transforming us into becoming all He has called us to be. Our role is to believe, trust, and depend on God in all things.
