And now, just as you accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord, you must continue to follow him.

Colossians 2:6 (NLT)

This verse tells us that in the same way we got born again are we now called to live out our Christian lives. This is a life of total dependence on God. Just as we contributed nothing to our salvation other than believing in what Jesus had already done, so too are we to now trust in and rely on the finished works of Jesus Christ in every area of our lives. This frees us from the doom and burden of self-dependence, and brings us into the ease and grace of God-dependence.
