Keep Your Mind Filled With Truth (1 Peter 1:13)

Therefore, preparing your minds for action, and being sober-minded, set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

1 Peter 1:13 (ESV)

To be sober-minded is to be filled with what the Word declares over us. It is to keep our minds actively focused on the truth of God’s Word, and to be actively on guard against the lies and deceptions of the enemy that would seek to invade our thinking. Our confident expectation is set fully upon what the grace of God has made available to us in Christ Jesus.

The Father’s Good Pleasure (Luke 12:32)

Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.

Luke 12:32 (KJV)

God is not reluctant when it comes to supplying our needs. In fact, it is His good pleasure to give us His kingdom. And so when we approach our heavenly Father, let us do so with boldness and confidence. Rather than being fearful, let us rejoice in faith; we may be certain that we will see God showing up mightily in our lives.

Faith In The Power Of God (1 Corinthians 3:19)

For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, he taketh the wise in their own craftiness.

1 Corinthians 3:19 (KJV)

Let us place our faith only in the power of God, and not in what we might consider the wisdom of this world. Worldly wisdom will oftentimes try and get us to doubt the promises of God, yet we are called to realize that no amount of worldly limitation can prevent us from receiving what God has already promised us in His Word.

No Fear (2 Timothy 1:7)

For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

2 Timothy 1:7  (KJV)

We overcome fear as we remember that it is the Spirit of God in us that gives us strength, wisdom, courage and ability. As we rely upon God, knowing He has planted in us His power, His love, and His soundness, we may go forth into our world with boldness and confidence. No longer are we held hostage by fear, but we are equipped and empowered to show up as the victorious overcomers we have been created to be.

Agree With The Word (Proverbs 30:5)

Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.

Proverbs 30:5 (KJV)

Putting our trust in God means trusting in His Word. Each day we get to choose to either agree with the word of man or with the Word of God. Let us be sure to agree with what God’s Word declares about us in Christ, and we will see as it proves itself to be true in our lives.

The Spirit Of God In Us (Romans 8:15)

For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

Romans 8:15 (KJV)

It is the Spirit of God in our spirit that draws us unto God, that enables us to fellowship with Him. And so let us approach Him as He truly is: our loving heavenly Father whose good pleasure it is to give us the kingdom. May we give up any fear or feelings of condemnation, and not doubt for one second that it is God’s will for us to be whole in every area of our lives.

Nothing Can Separate Us From Him (John 10:28)

And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

John 10:28 (KJV)

No one and nothing can ever separate us from the love of God. We have been joined unto Christ for eternity, and no amount of mistakes or shortcomings on our part can undo this union. Our role is to receive His precious gift of righteousness, and all that comes with it, by faith.

You Are Light In The Lord (Ephesians 5:8-9)

For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light (for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness, righteousness, and truth),

Ephesians 5:8-9 (NKJV)

We have been set free from darkness, and we have been made light in the Lord. Remembering our identity in Christ becomes the foundation for strong and mature faith. As we simply trust in who Jesus has made us to be, we will see the fruits of the Spirit manifesting in our life.

Thanksgiving As A Way Of Life (1 Thessalonians 5:18)

In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

1 Thessalonians 5:18 (KJV)

When we give God thanks in all things, thanksgiving has become our way of life. We give thanks that, no matter how things appear in the natural, Jesus through His finished work has already provided the solution. Gratitude and thanksgiving now shift our perspective and place us into a position of being able to receive the goodness of God that has already been made available. Let’s remember that as believers we are called to live a lifestyle of thanksgiving.
