We Partake Of His Nature (Galatians 2:20)

I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God who loved me, and gave himself for me.

Galatians 2:20 (KJV)

Through our union with Christ our old self has been crucified with Him, and we have been given a new self which is created after His image and likeness. As we deliberately remember each day who we have been made to be in Him, we are no longer held in bondage to the things of the flesh. Through faith in Jesus we partake of His nature, thereby becoming instruments through which His glory may be made manifest in the earth.

Living Out Of Who We Are In Christ (2 Cornithians 5:17)

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

2 Corinthians 5:17 (NKJV)

In Christ we have been made a brand new creation. The moment we are in Christ our spirit is recreated after the image of God in righteousness and true holiness. The task of every born again believer now is to bridge the gap between our perfect spirit in Christ and our imperfect soul. The soul—our mind, our will, and our emotions—must be brought into alignment with our new nature and identity according to the Word of God. Practially speaking, we renew the mind daily by meditating on and confessing our new idenity in Christ. This enables us to live more fully out of who we are in Him, giving us full access to the victory Jesus has already obtained for us.

The New Creation (Isaiah 65:17-18)

For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind. But be ye glad and rejoice for ever in that which I create: for, behold, I create Jerusalem a rejoicing, and her people a joy.

Isaiah 65:17-18 (KJV)

The new creation begins for us the moment we are in Christ. God wants to shape the new heaven and the new earth in and through the hearts of every born again believer. We participate in this continual process as we daily let go of the old, and receive by faith the newness of life that is in Christ Jesus. We then find ourselves filled with a peace and a joy that is independent of the circumstances and conditions of this world, and we become the much needed instruments through which God can bring healing, deliverance and salvation into the world.
