The Power Of God’s Word (John 1:1)

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

John 1:1 (KJV)

God and His Word are one. We have deep and intimate fellowship with God by coming to know Him and by communing with Him through His Word. Everything God does He does through His Word, and our hearts filled with His Word will lead to our lives being transformed.

Weekly Grace: Redeemed From The Curse Of The Law

Many people think of the Blessing as being circumstantial. In other words, that we are blessed when things are going well; and when things are not going well, we are not blessed. However, the biblical definition of the Blessing is to be empowered to prosper. To be blessed means to be set up for victory and success in every area of life!

The truth is that as born again Believers we are blessedWe are blessed on the mountaintop and we are blessed in the valley. We are blessed when things are going well and we are blessed when things are not going well. The reason is that—no matter the situation—victory has already been made available! Jesus has won us the victory two thousand years ago. And as a result of the finished works of Jesus, you and I are blessed!

The opposite of being blessed is to be cursed. And the definition of being cursed is to be empowered to fail. A person operating under the curse is a person who can never quite get ahead. No matter how hard they struggle and strive, it seems that things are always set up to their disadvantage. Friend, regardless of what your past experiences may have been, do you know the Bible says that Jesus has redeemed us from the curse of the law? As a result of the finished works of Jesus, you and I have been redeemed from the empowerment to fail.

Notice what we have been redeemed from is “the curse of the law.” This means that we have been redeemed from sweating and struggling and performing to try to get into right standing with God or to try to get God to bless us. Because of what Jesus has done for us, you and I now have free access to the boundless blessings of God by faith. As a result of the finished works of Jesus, God no longer deals with us based on our performance. And so we need not to work hard to try to get God to move in our lives; all we need to do is put our faith in Jesus. We are called to trust in the sufficiency of the finished works of Jesus rather than in our own performance.

God deals with us purely through the lens of the finished works of His Son. When God looks at you and me, He sees us in Christ. What He sees when He looks at you and me is Jesus in us. And this means that He sees us perfect. Yes, even at those times when we miss it and come up short, the boundless grace and mercy of our Heavenly Father are always there rushing toward us.

Understanding the goodness of God does not give us license to live in sin. The contrary—understanding the goodness of God actually brings about the very change of heart that causes us to no longer want to live in sin. Truly, it is the goodness of God that leadeth people to repentance. It is the goodness of God that turns us from failure and disappointment to living a live of victory and peace.

PRAYER:

Heavenly Father, I thank You that You are not holding my sins and my failures against me. Thank You for sending Jesus to deliver me from the bondage of past mistakes and from the guilt and shame of performance-based living, and for bringing me into a place of victory and peace. Teach me how to live as who You have created me to be. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Spiritual Discernment Of The Word (1 Corinthians 2:14)

But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

1 Corinthians 2:14 (KJV)

Spiritual truths cannot be understood or received through human reasoning or mere intellectual understanding. It requires the Spirit of God to make the things of God real to us. The more we renew our minds in the Word, the more will the Holy Spirit reveal the reality of the Word to us. And the more that the Word becomes real in our hearts, the more will we see the glory of God reflected in our lives.

Rejoice In The Lord (Philippians 4:4)

Rejoice in the Lord always [delight, gladden yourselves in Him]; again I say, Rejoice!

Philippians 4:4 (AMP)

What a blessing to know that we can continually delight ourselves in the Lord regardless of any circumstances and conditions! When we delight and gladden ourselves in Him, we consider His tremendous love for us. We allow this love to become a reality in our hearts, to take us over and saturate us as we meditate on His unmerited favor and the promises of victory we have in Him. This causes us to truly rejoice; and as a result, we are in a state of expecting to see His goodness and His favor showing up in our lives.

The Evidence Of Belief Is Rest (Hebrews 4:3)

For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.

Hebrews 4:3 (KJV)

We know we are truly believing God’s promises in a certain area of life when we have a sense of peace independent of circumstances and conditions. In Jesus we have access to the works that have been finished from the foundation of the world, which means everything we need is available in Him. The more we meditate on this, the more we will find rest in it.
