And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.
John 6:35 (KJV)
Jesus is letting us know that he is our sufficiency. Rather than going through life worrying about how we are going to make it, and how what we need will show up, what we are called to do instead is to realize that everything we could ever need is Jesus. When we seek him—not for the added things, not for what we think we will get from him—but simply because he is our joy and delight, all the added things will come to us as well. In other words, as we fellowship and commune with God in prayer and through his Word, we are opening ourselves to seeing this passage of scripture being made manifest in our lives. We will see that God is faithful to perform his Word. As we are spiritually fed and nourished by the bread of life, our every physical and material need will be supplied as well.
